Hi Lovelies!
I recently had the opportunity to try UNi 100% Organic Pure Moroccan Argan Oil. Morrocan or Argan Oil has come into popularity in the last couple years as a fabulous (and all natural) moisturizer for skin (facial and body), nails, and hair.
image
There are many very pricy Argan Oil products, but with UNi there is no need to spend a fortune to reap the benefits when there is such a great quality with a much lower cost option. Enter UNi 100% Organic Pure Moroccan Argan Oil which can be easily purchased on Amazon for the low price of $13.95 for 60ml or 2 fl oz.

I’ve enjoyed using this Argan Oil the last few weeks! I’ve been using this in place of my facial moisturizer in the morning. I’ve also been using this in my hair. I naturally have curly hair that just drinks up any sort of conditioner. I’ve read that dry hair is a typically issue with curly hair. So I’ve been sprinkling a few (or a dozen) drops in my long and pretty thick hair every morning. And my hair has been softer, more luscious, less frizzy, and never greasy. I think my hair is in love.
image
I’ve also been told that Argan Oil is good for scars. Now while I did try using (a different brand) of Argan Oil last year, I’m not sure I noticed any difference. But if you have a newer (ie still pink) scar it may be worth a try.

Do you use any oils such as Morrocan Argan Oil in your skin or hair care routines? Please share in the comments below!

Product Review & GIVEAWAY: TruSkin Naturals’ Professional Vitamin C + E + Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Review & GIVEAWAY (USA Only): TruSkin Naturals’ Professional Vitamin C + E + Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Hi Lovelies!
Recently I had the opportunity to try out 20% Vitamin C + E + Hyaluronic Acid Serum by TruSkin Naturals (click HERE to purchase on Amazon). And this time one of you, my readers will have the chance to win one too! (USA only) This is the second serum of this type that I’ve tried. While the first one I tried both smelled like oranges and was tinted the color orange, this one is clear with a slight medicinal scent. I think the scent may be the witch hazel. And while the scent isn’t unpleasant I don’t find it to be quite as nice as the previous one I tried with a scent of oranges.
image
Many of the included ingredients such as the high concentration of Vitamin C in addition to Vitamin E, Hyaluronic acid, Witch Hazel, Aloe, and Jojoba oil are either soothing (in the case of Witch Hazel and Jojoba oil or supposed to be anti-aging compounds. Hyaluronic acid is known to be able to retain a significant amount of water compared to its molecule size which is supposed to help keep more moisture in and around ones skin along with helping to minimize wrinkles.

I’m told constantly (as in several times a week) that I look significantly younger than my age. The consensus from my peers and professors (in my college courses), the high school girls I’ve helped coach in gymnastics, and people in general I’ve gotten is that I look a good 7 years younger. Not that I’m complaining or anything, I just get a bit of a kick whenever I see a surprised look on people’s faces when I tell them my actual age. In the last 10 years or so my dad has also been told frequently that he looks younger than he is. It is a very good problem to have. That said, I’d like to take care of my skin to keep it looking young so I’m very interested in any anti-aging product. And as I have chronically dry skin all year round, I’m all for trying a serum that is supposed to help keep moisture in and around my skin.
image
The directions for use state, “Wash and pat skin dry. If using a toner, apply toner first. Apply a small amount to entire face, neck, and decollete. Allow to dry. Follow with a moisturizer.”
image
I’ve really enjoyed being able to use this serum (and ones like it) for the last 6 weeks or so. I do think I’ve seen an improvement in the unevenness of my skin tone. My skin is quite light, any redness or darkness (ie under the eyes) shows quite easily. Since I’ve been faithfully using this serum I’ve found my skin to have a bit less redness. I’ve gotten into using a lighter coverage foundation in recent months and find with less redness in my skin, I don’t particularly need to use a full coverage foundation. And with the weather here in So. Cal like being on a roller coaster (about 2 weeks ago, it was 100 degrees here, then 5 days later is was 65 degrees) ride, I find medium to full coverage foundations to ‘melt’ off whereas the sheerer foundations stay put better.

Review: Adovia Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Review:  Adovia Dead Sea Facial Mud Mask
image

Hi Lovelies,

Recently, I had the opportunity of trying out Adovia’s Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask. I was immediately drawn to applying for this campaign as this line is made in Israel. Whenever possible, I prefer to purchase products made in Israel as I feel it is a small thing I can do to support the only Jewish country.
image

The mud found in the Dead Sea has been long sought after as having great skincare benefits. TrustedOnlineStore is the name of the seller on Amazon says that:

“Facial Mask Tightens and Purifies Pores leaving Clear, Younger Complexion Dead Sea Mud Quickly Reduces Acne and Pimples Over 21 Minerals Present in Dead Sea Mud Mask help to keep skin healthier and act as acne treatment A facial Dead Sea Mud Mask Facial Treatment in Spas cost from $70-120. This Mask contains 30 Sessions! Can be Used as Spot treatment & Blackhead Remover.”

I’m loving this facial mask and it is so easy to use! I just spread a thin layer over clean skin and let dry for 10-20 or so minutes before rinsing off. My skin feels so refreshed, smooth, and soft afterwards. Once completely dry I used toner followed by a vitamin C serum and moisturizer. I find that my face feels just the same the following morning!

I have chronically dry skin and so I’m quite prone to flaky dry patches that makes ANY makeup look cake-u and obviously look like I’m wearing makeup. Because of this I use an exfoliating face wash daily and like to use (various) masks a few days a week. I alternate between a deep(er) exfoliating masks and hydrating masks. I’d say this one falls somewhere in between.

image

Ingredient list

The exfoliating mask I use has ‘micro-beads’ the provide the somewhat ‘rough’ particles that actually do the exfoliating whereas the hydrating one is extra thick and creamy. This Adovia Dead Sea Facial Mud Mask doesn’t have a ‘rough’ surface like my other one does, yet it still manages to remove the same amount of dead skin while still managing to not dry out my skin further.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a great (and easy) mask to use at home to pamper your skin. It is a much more affordable way to pamper ones skin than running out to an expensive spa. If you are interested in purchasing this you can do so on Amazon by clicking HERE. Each tube contains approximately 30 uses for just $30 which is only $1 per use while other similar products easily cost 2-4 times this!

I’d LOVE the hear from you as to whether you follow a skincare regimen? Why or why not? If you do, do you use facial masks?

Review: Valentia Even Glow Serum Vitamin C 20%

Review: Valentia Even Glow Serum Vitamin C 20%
image
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to try Valentia’s 20% Vitamin C serum(find on Amazon HERE)! I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now and definitely think I’m seeing some improvement in the evenness of my skin. My skin definitely has pink-red undertones to the point that my cheeks (natively) look flushed with my fairly pale skin tone. I have no complaints about my light skin that lost its ability to tan when I started high school as tanning at all is unhealthy skin wise. While having no complaints about the paleness of my skin, I do not care for how red my skin can be. My cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead are very often quite pink-red even if my skin isn’t irritated or broken out. I rarely break out as I have chronically dry skin.
image
I’ve heard for a couple years now that Vitamin C serums are supposed to be good as part of an anti-aging regime especially in addition to hyaluronic acid which in and of itself is supposed to be a very good moisturizer. While I am told quite frequently that my chronological age doesn’t match up well with my appearance. My dad also has been told something similar more and more often over the last 15+ years. While I don’t think I have a lot of wrinkles currently, I’d very much like to keep it that way as much as possible.

I’m also very interested in trying anything that promotes an evening of skin tone with the reduction of redness. This was one the is the
of such serums that I’ve tried and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE the light scent of oranges! Even though I haven’t tasted an orange in over 10 years (ingesting oranges is a no go with my digestive problems), I still enjoy the scent of them. In fact the mental image I first had when I heard of a Vitamin C serum was oranges! In addition to the pleasant orangey scent, the serum is ever so slightly tinged orange. But no color translates onto my skin once applied and the scent disappears quickly too.
image
I do find this serum to be just a touch sticky, but it isn’t so much to be a bother or any reason why I wouldn’t continue to use this product. I just thought I’d mention it. Each bottle is topped with a dropper in order to be able to most easily be able to dispense just the little amount needed per application. I find I use about 6 drops per application. At this rate I should have at least a couple more months supply. As per the directions, I apply this one daily and once dry I follow with a moisturizer.

image

Here I'm showing what two drops looks like on my hand. It starts just slightly orange, but the tint goes away be quickly!

Since I started using this I’ve found my skin to be even softer in texture than before, much less red which has let me be able to use a much more sheer foundation which in this extremely HOT Southern Ca weather is not only more comfortable but looks more natural than medium or full coverage foundations do (or can). I’m not expecting miracles in wrinkle or aging reversal from any skin care product, but I am looking for smaller changes such as less redness, softer texture, and preventing new wrinkles (I saw the first two for sure and the third, well time will tell).

If you are interested in trying Valentia’s Even Glow 20% Vitamin C Serum you can purchase your own from Amazon by clicking HERE. If you do decide to try this please let me know what you think after you have a chance to try it.

Have you tried using a Vitamin C serum before? What did you think? Or do you use any sort of skin care regime? anti-aging products? Please let me know in the comments. I’m also including a little animation of a me diripping dropsback into the bottle with the included the included dropper so you can get an ideaof the color and consistency.

Are you looking forward to summer? Or do you live in an area where summer apparently arrived pretty early in the year? I love reading your comments!

P.S. Only 1.5 weeks of term left until I complete my first (full) year back in college!! In fact I was the first one of my voice class to finish singing each of the 4 required pieces twice! And this Thursday is my last lab for my biology course, then its truly downhill (or is tht uphill) until the fourth (and final) exam.
